And wait…
and then wait some more….
I’m not sure who I rubbed the wrong way, but I definitely got the short end of the stick as far as surgery times go.
2 pm!!!! That means nothing to eat or drink after midnight tonight?!?!?!? Heh um ok?
To be honest, I can and usually do go without eating until almost 2 pm everyday, but that’s only because I have 2 pots of coffee in that time frame. I know for a fact that tomorrow I will be hungrier and thirstier than I have ever been in my life though, just because I can’t have anything.
To make things “more fun” the surgery center will can not use my port o cath. I really really wish I had known when they told me I needed surgery, because I would have gone to the hospital instead, but I am not waiting another 2 weeks to get rescheduled….smh fingers crossed they can find a vein in less than a handful of sticks please?!?!?
I know that I have said that I have been through surgery a gazillion times, but there is one more NEW thing about this one….

Have you ever seen or used these cloths? I have never heard of, or used them before. First time for everything.
I always plan for the worst, but hope for the best. I am PLANNING to be sleeping for the next few days as much as possible, so please assume no news is good news. HOPEFULLY, I will be back to blogging by Wednesday…. Either way, I do know that It is NOT MY TIME, and I will be back. Looking forward to chatting with you all soon!
Just another day for Graceful…NOT! Hugs!!

So, I have made it to the end and your surgery is tomorrow. Eek! Bummer about the 2pm thing. When you feel hungry just imagine something super gross so you lose your appetite. For me, that would be a bowl of snot. OMG, I just threw up a little in my mouth when I typed that out. Bleh. Good luck tomorrow, Grace. I will be thinking of you and rooting for a speedy recovery.

Grace, I have been so absent, so in the clouds, so as I caught up on your blog this morning, I learned that you are going into surgery in a matter of hours. I know you won’t get this until after, but I am sending so much love your way. I was having breakfast with a friend the other day and telling her about you, how funny and tough and just super fucking cool and amazing you are!!!! You have totally got this!!!! Love you, Lady!

There is nothing wrong with having your head in the clouds, they can be very beautiful and peaceful. I hope you took some time to enjoy them while you were there!!!!! I can’t tell you what a compliment it is that you thought of me while with a friend. One tear rolled down my cheek. (while that could be from the black eye I gave myself yesterday, since I am very calm, and warm and fuzzy, I’m gonna say the tear is from your compliment) Talk to you soon my dear friend!

I think “after midnight” is their standard cutoff regardless of the actual time your surgery is scheduled because they don’t want to worry about details. On the bright side the doctors performing your surgery are probably very detail-oriented.
Anyway I think technically you could eat an entire pizza and have those two pots of coffee before 2am–they just want at least a twelve-hour cutoff–and still be okay although you wouldn’t get much sleep after that.
